This information is not intended to take the place of a professional consultation with our clinicians. However, it should help answer some of the questions you may have regarding treatment with Hydrafill®, Botox® or Restylane®.
We hope this information will educate and facilitate you and your clinician to decide whether such treatment is right for you.
Q. How long does the procedure take?
A. Treatment time can range from 15 to 30 minutes and you will start to see the effects within 48-72 hours, with maximum effect taking 7-10 days.
Q. Is there any discomfort with Botox in Leeds?
A. Our clinicians are skilled at administering precision injections as painlessly as possible. To minimise discomfort a very fine needle and only a small amount of liquid is used. A local anaesthetic is not usually required before your Botox in Leeds(but is available).
Q. Will I need time off work after my Botox treatment?
A. You can take on all of your usual daily activities immediately after your treatment. People will not notice that you have had Botox treatment.
However, slight temporary bruising or redness is possible. You can also start eating, drinking, wearing make-up soon after the treatments.
Q. What areas can be treated with Botox in Leeds and Dermal Fillers?
A. Commonly treated areas include:
• smile lines around your nose and mouth,
• corners of your mouth,
• frown lines between the eyebrows,
• crow's feet
• chin dimples
• fore head lines
Q. How often do will I need treatment for Botox in Leeds?
A. To maintain your new youthful look you may need 'touch-up' treatments twice a year with Botox®.
Touch-up treatments with dermal fillers (Hydrafill and Restylane) are also usually needed twice yearly, as over time these natural fillers are absorbed by your body. Thus, if you decide to stop treatment your skin will gradually return to its original shape.
Our experienced clinicians will develop a tailor-made treatment plan that is right for you.
Q. How much will Botox in Leeds cost?
A. Each unique rejuvenation treatment at Clarendons starts from around £264, depending on the areas of the face covered.
An interest free option is also available.
Q. What are dermal fillers?
A. The primary ingredient of dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid, a natural component of skin. They are injected just below the surface of the skin adding volume and/or structure for up to 6 months. Thus, dermal filers can temporarily restore a smoother appearance of your skin.
Q. What is Hyaluronic acid?
A. A natural sugar found in your body. Hyaluronic acid commonly occurs in skin, joints and in the eyes. The role of hyaluronic acid in skin is to hydrate the skin (by attracting and binding to water molecules), to act as a cushioning agent and also to deliver nutrients.
Q. How are dermal filler treatments (Restylane and Hydrafill) different from collagen treatments?
A. These fillers temporarily add volume to your skin by attracting water and hydrating your skin. These effects are just like the effects of hyaluronic acid naturally occurring in your body.
The Collagen treatments that are available aim to restock the lost collagen from your skin to restore its structure.
Q. How are dermal filler treatments (Restylane and Hydrafill) different from Botox®?
A. Botox® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is a protein which relaxes muscles smoothing lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements.
A very fine needle is used to deposit the filler just below a wrinkle in order to 'fill-up space' and thus, smoothing the surface of the skin.
Q. Will I be able to make facial expressions?
A. As we use so many muscles to give us facial expression, you will not be left expressionless. We selectively de-activate the muscles that cause the ageing lines that you are worried about.
Q. Is Botox in Leeds safe?
A. For most people the procedure is safe.
In 2005, almost 3.3 million procedures were performed with FDA approved Botox® Cosmetic. This number has increased considerably since then.
Hydrafill was approved in April 2004 for injection into the skin for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as smile lines) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Hydrafill and Restylane have successfully undergone extensive testing including scientific clinical trials to establish its safety and effectiveness.
