Paediatric Referral

(please select an option from the left hand menu)

How does this referral system work?
Firstly your dentist must refer your child for dental treatment by a paediatric dentist

Parents/guardians are usually given a choice of where they would prefer to be seen. If a hospital is busy and unable to see you quickly the Primary Care Trust may contact you directly to ask if you would like to be seen at our multi-award winning clinic instead. This means that you will be seen more quickly and the treatment will still be free of charge.

Once you have have chosen to come to our clinic, the Primary Care Trust's Referral Management Service (RMS) will forward your childs referral paperwork to us.

What will happen at my child's first appointment?

  1. This will be for an examination and consultation only. You will have full say, along with your child, regarding making a treatment plan for your child. This visit typically takes 45min to 1 hour.
  2. If you are happy to proceed, we will arrange your next appointment
You and your child will be greeted by our paediatric dentist who has a PhD in Paediatric dentistry and a Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons in Canada in Paediatric Dentistry.
He is also a member of British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and the European Society of Paediatric Dentistry.
Hani has also works as a Senior Dental Officer (SDO) in paediatric dentistry at Bradford and Airedale PCT for and as a Clinical Demonstrator at the paediatric department at Leeds Dental Institute (LDI).
At this appointment he will discuss what treatment your child may require including all the options available along with any associated risks and benefits. He will also carefully examine your child and record any findings. He may even take digital radiographs (x-rays) if needed.
