Dr H Maghaireh nominated for BSSPD award

We are delighted to announce that our Implant Specialist Dr Hassan Maghaireh has been nominated for the British Society for Prosthodontics (BSSPD)'s President's Prize.
Dr Maghaireh has been nominated for his pioneering studies in Dental Implants.
Along with the other nominees, Dr Maghaireh and his colleagues from the University of Manchester will do a short presentation on his work at the BSSPD's annual conference on 25th March 2013, with the winners of the President's Prize announced later on the day.
We’re very proud of Hassan's achievements and we wish him the best of luck!
Clarendons awarded by Leeds Primary Care Trust
Clarendon Dental Spa have been given the Highly Commended award for 'Transforming Health and Social Care Services' by the Leeds Primary Care Trust.
This award was given to Clarendons for its contribution and continued support for the Leeds PCT in reducing patient waiting times before being seen by a dentist. We were given many reviews from patients saying they were extremely happy with the fact that they were seen by the dentist within a week or two of being referred to our practice. They were also really happy with the quality of the services we provided them as well as the friendly and supportive atmosphere we create at the practice.
Clarendons wins 2011 Practice of the Year Award (North)
NHS Leeds Celebrate The Success of Clarendons as the practice wins the prestigious national award for the second year running.
Clarendon Dental Spa is a private dental practice that provides NHS services on behalf of NHS Leeds. The practice was also recognised in the Most Attractive Practice UK coming in second place.
The national awards ceremony rewards exceptional individuals, teams and practices with an active interest in staying at the top of the profession and judges included some of the most-respected dentists within the UK.
It sees practices, dentists and dental teams competing against the best and most innovative in the dental profession.
Speaking of the practice’s win, Dr Al-Ani & Dr Patel, partners of Clarendon Dental Spa said: “We are very proud of our team’s achievements this year, especially following the various awards they received last year.
“These awards reflect our dedication to continual improvement in the services we provide for patients throughout Leeds and West Yorkshire.”

Clarendons awarded 2nd Most Attractive Practice (UK)
From being a Shortlist in 2010, Clarendon’s has been awarded the 2nd place award of 'Most Attractive Practice (UK) 2011' at The Private Dentistry Awards which took place in November 2011.
A lot of time and money have been put into perfecting the appearance of the practice to ensure that our patients feel relaxed and at home as soon as they enter our building. Our state-of-the-art surgeries are filled with high-tech equipment to ensure that we provide top quality dental treatments to our patients. Furthermore, our patients not only enjoy watching films on the chair-side screen, but also have the choice to see the treatment being done on their teeth and select the music they find most relaxing for them.
Our patient satisfaction survey has come back with over 95% satisfaction from a huge random selection of patients, and a large percentage of our patients have said that visiting Clarendons was their best ever experience with a dentist. Much credit goes to our tropical fish tanks, which our patients have said calms them down whilst they're waiting for their appointment.

Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) prize awarded to Andrew Shelton
Our Specialist Orthodontist Andrew Shelton received the prize, which is open to all those who’ve completed specialist orthodontic training in the past year, and have sat the Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) exam atone of the Royal Colleges.
The prize is awarded to the person showing the best two MOrth cases judged on difficulty, clinical management and documentation.
Trevor Hodge receives Certificate of Merit
Trevor was recently awarded a Certificate of Merit at the University of Leeds Clinical Teaching Excellence Awards 2011-2012 for his work in taking on and revamping the undergraduate orthodontic course. In his letter of award, Professor Cottrell of the University of Leeds says: "The Leeds School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority run an annual competition for NHS staff who excel in teaching our students. Last year, we opened the award to NHS staff who similarly provide excellent teaching to dental students”.
These awards are highly competitive and an indication of providing truly outstanding teaching for Leeds undergraduates.
Maurice Berman prize for Trevor Hodge!
Congratulations to our specialist Trevor Hodge for receiving this fantastic honour, which is awarded for demonstrating the highest level of clinical ability in a case. The initial severity of the case, optimal facial and dental aesthetics, final occlusion, and quality and completeness of the photographic record, are all taken into account.
