Wearing braces doesn’t have to be so obvious!

Lingual braces are the ideal choice for people who want to undergo teeth straightening, but do not want the reality of having braces as a key part of their smile and appearance.

The difference between lingual braces and traditional braces is that they sit behind your teeth so that nobody will see them unless you want them to.

It may be that you have a big event such as a wedding coming up but do not have time for your treatment to be fully completed. In the past your braces would have to be removed and placed back on again, extending your treatment. With invisible lingual treatments this does not have to be the case.

The benefits

Here at our state-of-the-art dental practice, we offer the finest, and most in-demand orthodontic treatments available. Lingual braces are an excellent treatment option, and here’s why:

  • They sit behind the teeth, so for those who don’t want to appear to be wearing braces, this is a fantastic option.
  • This also makes lingual braces ideal for patients who play a lot of contact sports, such as football or rugby – as they do not interfere.
  • Compatible – Invisalign’s also compatible with dental implants, so if you’re worried this might be an issue, it isn’t!

There are several types of lingual braces, and once you meet our wonderful orthodontists, they’ll be able to advise which is the best option for you.

Harmony Lingual Braces employ a self-ligating clip, which is hugely advantageous for many patients. The reason it’s so popular is that, unlike with traditional braces, self-ligating braces straighten your teeth gradually by itself, whereas with traditional braces, you’d have to visit the dental practice to tighten it periodically. So less treatment and chair time for you! This is primarily due to the design. With self-ligating braces, they don’t require rubber bands to keep in place the main archwire – it has a unique sliding mechanism that gradually tightens over time.

In-Ovation L are also self-ligating, but are primarily known for being petite and comfortable for patients to wear.
