Oral Sedation

Allow us to remove your dental anxieties

Afraid of visiting the dentist? Nervous about getting your teeth looked at? Here at Clarendons, we do a great job of helping nervous patients feel at ease. Through oral sedation, you don’t have to feel anxious about your visit to the dentist.

The way oral sedation works, is to relax you when you’d otherwise be in a heightened sense of anxiety. Oral sedation diminishes this anxiety to the point whereby you’ll feel completely relaxed. We’re confident that this will completely transform your dental experience!

The benefits

  • Makes visiting the dentist possible - For many people it can be incredibly difficult to visit the dentist, however, through sedation we’re able to encourage phobic / nervous patients to visit regularly, as they know they’ll be completely relaxed!
  • No injection is required - Oral sedation is swallowed either as a tablet or as a liquid. This is one of the reasons why it’s so popular, as nervous / phobic patients often prefer to avoid injections.
  • Flexibility – after speaking to the dentist you can even take oral sedation the evening before your procedure, as well as just before the procedure. This way, leading up to your visit you’ll feel completely at ease!

FAQ’s

Can I drive to and from my appointment?

No. When receiving sedation, you’ll need to be escorted to and from the practice as you won’t be in a fit enough state to drive.

How long until the effects wear off?

Your companion who’ll be looking after you and taking you to and from your appointment, will need to stay with you for the rest of the day. It’s important that you simply rest up at home during these hours and when you wake up the next morning, you’ll feel as good as new!
