Dr Mohammed Mudassar Akhtar
Mudassar graduated from the University of Manchester, attaining honours in 3 out the 5 years he studied there. Alongside this, he won the Edgar Houghton Operative Dentistry Prize for the technically best finals clinical case upon graduating. He ranked in the top 2% of the country during national recruitment and worked in his hometown of Rochdale for his vocational training.
After completing his training, he spent the following year working as a core trainee in oral and maxillofacial surgery in five different hospitals (North Manchester General Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary, Fairfield General Hospital and Tameside General Hospital) expanding his surgical repertoire. In 2017, Mudassar successfully attained the MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. In addition to this, he trained in providing intravenous sedation for his anxious patients as well as completing his studies in 2020 for the prestigious FGDP Diploma in Implant Dentistry, which is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England which. His implant training has taken him all across the world including Germany, Italy and Spain – learning from some of the world’s most prestigious implant surgeons. Mudassar has also worked as a Tier 2/Level 2 Oral Surgery Performer since 2017 and was the Clinical Lead for Minor Oral Surgery in Stockport(Greater Manchester); having helped set up and run the service.
Alongside this, Mudassar has also trained in advanced endodontics (root canal treatments) in the UK and Dubai in addition to completing a Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic &Restorative Dentistry course with Basil Mizrahi on Harley Street in London.
Outside of dentistry, Mudassar enjoys travelling and spending time with his family including his young son. Heis an avid boxing and UFC fan.
Mudassar now limits his practice to oral surgery,implant and sedation dentistry.
